The Christian Fundamentalists felt their top priority should be saving these "godless" souls of Key West.  They got on a megaphone and marched up and down Duval St. telling everyone that they were going to hell, and chanting "Sodom and Gomorrah were punished for being sinful!"  As the night got later, they got bolder and set up camp in one of the more busy areas, so that they could yell at the body painted women.  But by 8pm they had suddenly disappeared.  The police probably made them leave for starting fights. 

Considering the friendly and happy mood of the rest of Duval, the fundies' angry taunting actually ended up amusing.  Except for the fact that they were picking fights with women, they almost blended in with the rest of the crowd of freaks.
