The Laramie Raptor Refuge is a non-profit organization founded in 1995 to give permanent homes to disabled, non-releasable birds of prey. We provide daily care for these birds and use them to educate the community. We travel to schools, camps, and other interested groups to teach about raptors and habitat conservation. The organization is run exclusively by volunteers and is headed by Catherine Symchych, who received her training in raptor rehabilitation at facilities in Montana and Colorado.

In 1999, we expanded our mission to include rehabilitation of injured birds of all species. The number of injured birds that are admitted to our facility continues to increase each year. We are able to rehabilitate and re-release up to 50% of the birds that come in. Many of the non-releasable birds have been sent to education centers throughout the U.S.
